BIG RABBIT BY GELITIN

Rabbit (Artesina, Piemont, Italy. 2005), a gigantic pink cuddly toy made primarily of straw and wool, is the work of the artist group, Gelitin. It’s so big that one begins to get an idea of how small and insignificant a Liliputian must have felt next to Gulliver. According to the legend, dozens of grannies knitted one ton of wool into the rabbit’s skin, contributing to a work, which is to remain on site for 20 years-and left to rot.

INTERSECTION | NYC-NIGHT BY NAVID BARATY

NY, Brooklyn-based photographer Navid Baraty (facebook / behance) - “Anyone who’s walked around a city looking up at the grandeur of the towering buildings knows how small you can feel amid such giants. I wanted to instead look down from those dizzying heights and capture a surreal and altered perspective on the familiar chaotic but rhythmic life below. While there’s undeniable beauty in abstracting architecture into angles and reflections, I was attracted even more by the unique character of each city that could still be perceived from far above.” read more

Smith has created these images using a unique and groundbreaking technique. Each image is composited from thousands and thousands of thumbnails extracted as screen grabs from Google Maps, which are then reconstructed piece by piece using Photoshop to produce such incredibly detailed images, a level of detail one can only really experience in person.

PAPERSKY BY FLORIAN MUELLER

Germany, Cologne based photographer Florian Mueller - “The sky is changing. Constantly. As if it was never satisfied with it’s design, it’s color, the shape and texture of the clouds. Like a writer who is never satisfied with his sentences, words and ideas. Throwing away more and more crumpled paper, building a pile of lost and littered ideas. But sometimes it is worth to break out of this circle and pause for a moment, to dwell and reflect on rejected plans to build something new.”

THE BEAUTY IN EXPIRED LA BY  VICKY MOON

CA, Los Angeles-based photographer Vicky Moon - “Expired L.A. is an on going series of my exploration of Los Angeles at night. Every building is unique and captivating, as well as the individual color shifts each building creates with every exposure. I am fascinated by the drama that is created by the night sky and seek the beautiful in the over looked; I find the mundane to be extravagant and I find the beauty in the expired; This is my Los Angeles.”
