PALETTE BY JOE FIG
Joe Fig originally trained as a painter in New York at the School of Visual Arts. As he painted over the years, he continued to expand his interests and explored new ways of painting. In particular he took a great interest in other painter’s work, and then the tools that they used to create their work. (previously here)
IMPOSITIONS BY GREGORY SCOTT
Chicago-based painter & photographer Gregory Scott - “Gregory has always blurred the lines between painting and photography, incorporating paintings he did of himself, or parts of his body, back into his photographs. The resulting images were both humorous and odd, challenging the viewers perception of photographic truth. Then, at the age of 49, Scott decided to go back to school to extend his knowledge of video and art history. Having successfully merged his love of painting and photographs, his interest turned to video and its ability to move and manipulate still images.”

WINSTON CHMIELINSKI
Artist Winston Chmielinski - “A thought about paintings: potentially their backsides remain the same so that everything else can change, in full sight, chaotically, unabashedly honest in metaphor and biography–this brush stroke is how I’ve lived my life, one might say–inciting the Painted to proclaim its inverse existence, like a face with all its sensory orifices projecting instead of taking in, or a still-life commanding you to stand still and be seen”.
PAINTINGS BY MARK POSEY
Los Angeles-based artist Mark Posey - “My current art is driven by a desire to most accurately represent an unfiltered sense of self. My paintings are therefore more about me than the subject being painted. Through my art I strive to make a genuine connection with the viewer.” [ facebook | saatchionline ]

EGGCUBISM BY ENNO DE KROON
I have never written a review before but I would like to say Bravo to the author of these works, they are amazing. I have seen a lot of things in my life, but… In a word, I think these works EGGCUBISM, are a little funny and interesting as well and I can say that this is an attempt from the artist to create a novel way of perceiving perspective.
Netherlands, Rotterdam-based Artist Enno De Kroon - As a painter I consider egg cartons as two-and-a-half dimensional objects which offer me remarkable possibilities for imagery. The waves of the egg cartons limit the viewer’s perception; they also make him aware of his positioning towards the image. The intentional limitation in subjective perception gives room for imagination and recall: the process of occlusion. By a fusion of direct and indirect perception conventional imagery is overtaken. At first sight this leads to a physical and mental incompleteness, that forces an integration which can only take place within the inner experience, apart from time and space. (compare the ‘head of Janus’, that looks at the present and the future congruently.)

COLOR LANDSCAPES
Germany, Berlin based Artist Michael Luther - The subject of my work is painting itself. Themes can be: the color itself, miniature-landscapes composed of oil-paint, the atelier or exhibition room, concerning subjects of art history or actual proceedings at the art market. Important is the execution, the energy and concentration which is immanent and shown in a painting – it is result and an object of meditation.

WILDERNESS TIPS
Artist Zachari Logan - “Landscapes are accounts of both literal time and place. Before they are either of those they are mindscapes. Whether imagined or observed they evoke the weight of identity. In previous work, my body maintained the singular pose or character of a glyph. A sign that portrayed an idea or construction. Not a portrait, in the individual sense, these theatrical “poses” imagined a world unto themselves. Still the catalyst, my body is present within Wilderness Tips but ceases to be the sole focus. This shift in representation is transformative, towards creating images that posit intuitive mood rather than theatrical extravagance. The title, a nod to a book of short stories by Canadian writer Margaret Atwood Wilderness Tips (1991) explores ideas of language as survival within the spectre of wilderness, a terrain that in actuality is the unravelling of the lives of her characters. Through the spectacle of plant and animal life and the ambiguity these manifestations impart, I become a spectator as well, imagining my own body not outside nature, but an allegorical aspect of it”.
Zachari Logan solo show “Wilderness Tips” Schleifmhlgasse 12-14. Vienna, Austria. 09.06.2012 - 09.29.2012
